Annual School Census is a data collection exercise, through which the data about schools, students, teachers and other staff is collected on a prescribed Performa by Reform Support Unit.
Every District collects this information, enter it in the database software given by R.S.U and send it back to Reform Support Unit.
District Officer Education (SEMIS & Planning) receives Annual School Census forms from SEMIS wing of Reform Support Unit Karachi and distributes these forms in a workshop among the Assistant District Officers, Supervisors and Head Teachers of High/Higher Secondary Schools.
Mostly this exercise occurs at the end of year and a reference date is set up by Reform Support Unit to avoid any confusion.
After distribution of ASC forms the Assistant District Officers, Supervisors and Head Teachers of High/Higher Secondary Schools submit back these forms to District Officer Education (SEMIS & Planning) after filling within a month.
During this period District Officer Education (SEMIS & Planning) remains continuously in touch with all these stake holders to complete this exercise as soon as possible.
Then District Officer Education (SEMIS & Planning) starts the scrutiny of these forms and returns back the incomplete forms to the concern for proper completion.
Then the data entry process starts and after completion of data entry the database software is submitted to Reform Support Unit, where after scrutiny the experts from R.S.U indicate the errors in data and District Officer Education (SEMIS & Planning) rectifies the data again.
Finally Reform Support Unit publishes the District Profiles of all the Districts of Sindh
The Planning and other activities of R.S.U,such as Free Text Books,S.M.C Funds, Stipend for Girl Students and Rehabilitation of Schools depends up on this data.
